Flexible Joint is a flexible fitting installed between two sections of pipe in a fire-fighting system. It is designed to absorb vibration, thermal expansion, misalignment, and movement in the piping network, protecting equipment and ensuring system stability.

 

• Vibration Absorption : Reduces vibration transmitted from fire pumps or equipment to the piping system.
• Thermal Expansion Compensation : Absorbs expansion and contraction of pipes caused by temperature changes.
• Misalignment Adjustment : Compensates for small installation misalignments between pipe sections.
• Shock Absorption : Cushions sudden pressure surges (water hammer) in the system.
• Noise Reduction : Minimizes noise caused by pump operation and water flow.

Fire Pump Discharge & Suction Lines	Installed at the inlet and outlet of fire pumps to absorb vibration and protect piping
Pump Room Manifold	Placed between pump headers and valves to reduce mechanical stress

Building Movement Joints	Installed at structural expansion joints to allow movement without pipe stress
