MANUAL PULL BOX

MANUAL PULL BOX

Category: FIRE ALARM SYSTEM

Specifications
Details

Manual Pull Box is a fire alarm initiating device installed in buildings so that a person can manually trigger the fire alarm system when they detect a fire or other emergency before automatic detectors respond. It normally mounted at accessible height near exits or escape routes so occupants can easily reach it. For example, the operable part of a pull station should be between about 1.07m and 1.22m above finished floor. It provides an alternative to automatic detection, if someone sees smoke or fire, they can pull the box to initiate alarms and evacuation. After pulling the lever or activating the device, the fire alarm control panel gets a signal that evacuation should commence and notification appliances (bell/ horns/ strobes) are activated.

  • Activation mechanism : Either a lever pull (single action) or a more deliberate two-step (dual action) mechanism (e.g. lift cover then pull) to reduce false triggers
  • Housing : Often durable metal or die-cast, finished in high-gloss red
  • Compliance : Must meet applicable fire alarm standards
